American "Christianity" is based primarily on things that shouldn't even be in the Bible (like the blatant political screed that is Revelation and several fraudulent things attributed to Paul) and ignoring the Gospels.
Fortunately aren't going to hell because hell doesn't exist according to Jesus (although if it did I think making out you know better than him is a good way to book a ticket).
