Nah you don't understand the Military Industrial Complex
>military has infinite money to spend for national security
>compete with other nation states as buyers, bidding up price
>contractor has captive buyer, able to scalp the military
This happens to robotics, and much of the non-tech science/engineering world.
It's part of the reason manufacturing has been dying too, private sector can't compete with military as a customer.
The robotics firms are capturing all of the consumer surplus, while in the labor market without unions, it's always better to hire even at very high wages.
Even unionized labor will cost you less than dealing with a robotics company.

If you believe some of the pictures and stories online, most CS majors don't know how to code. It will probably get worse if more people are using ChatGPT or whatever.

Hard labor will always be a punitive exercise, the oligarchy will keep it around to keep the peasants busy and tired. It's called heat. It kills everything but prions which wagies can't do anything about.
The fact is that if you don't have wagies buying the McWagie food than the franchise owner has to get a fucking job which he can't because his "success" and country-club membership and the hotels in NY he stays in are predicated on wagies McWaging and circling that money back to him.

Raping children is illegal because if it weren't than people would take matters into their own hands which the state hates. It causes blood fueds. People realized a long time ago that having these blood fueds was disruptive to the cohesion of a society so they made laws.
Money doesn't make you invincible.
