Linux under fire
Jewish software engineer from Meta (Facebook) tried to put dubious garbage onto Linux header files used to compile software when the mastermind behind Linux itself was about to GO ON VACATIONS TRAVELING BETWEEN FINLAND AND USA

https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/CAHk-=wjLCqUUWd8DzG+xsOn-yVL0Q=O35U9D6j6=2DUWX52ghQ@mail.gmail.com/

"The upcoming merge window for 6.17 is going to be slightly chaotic for me. I have multiple family events this August (a wedding and a big birthday), and with said family being spread not only across the US, but in Finland too, I'm spending about half the month traveling."

"This adds various garbage that isn't RISC-V specific to generic header files. And by 'garbage," I really mean it. This is stuff that nobody should ever send me, never mind late in a merge window." Specifically, Torvalds hated the "crazy and pointless" way in which one of the patch's helper functions combined two unsigned 16-bit integers into a 32-bit integer. How bad was it? "That thing makes the world actively a worse place to live. It's useless garbage that makes any user incomprehensible, and actively *WORSE* than not using that stupid 'helper.'"

In addition to the quality issues, Torvalds was annoyed that the offending code was added to

>generic header files rather than the RISC-V tree.

stewardess? i speak jive.

so this persons supposedly contributing to kernel code for the risc-v processor

but they inserted some pointless shit in the “header files” for all architectures, maybe just to give themselves unmerited cred for “contributing to the kernel”, whatever. linus is annoyed and told them not to contribute any more patches that are outside of the risc-v device tree.

as for the actual code hes bitching about, i dont know what the original or the merged lines actually even do.

I speak e-bonics as well.

It's a type conversion function for turning two unsigned 16bit integers into one unsigned 32bit integer. As Linus pointed out, this function is wholly unnecessary, as this can be done with simple bitwise operators when needed. Linus is 100% correct in shitting on this person

and well, probably Facebook because they can design and fabricate the CPUs for their own servers, at scale, using an open source processor and whatever the hell interconnections theyd want for clustering and networking. kind of makes sense to get rid of any further licensing or royalties on the system (to intel, AMD, ARM, etc), they do make their own servers. it makes sense theyd take it even further.

>Linux
I assume what you're refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called Linux, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

They are probably degraded and too big to actually put out functional OS.
Look at Google. They start and fail at multiple projects. Even massive projects. Becouse there are too many midle managers around that will force themselves into it to get credit. It dosent matter if it failed. They get to add worked on X.

It would be same for MS. Everyone would rush to add their contribution to OS. This in turn would turn it into mess.
Best you can hope is lightweight versio of current OS for gaming when Linux gains more ground in that field.

This extended to adding fake IE and AOL icons that just opened chrome to MSN and her email because she absolutely could not figure out "click "internet browser", then click "AOL email" on the bookmarks list that shows in the empty tab".

Well maybe she could figure it out, but she was just stubborn as all hell when it came to technology. She did something similar with her TV remote.

Simple addition of the data held in two 16-bit lengh fields, with the result being output in a 32-bit length field. For comparison 16-bit is 65536 bits of data big, while 32-bit is 2147483647 bits of data big.

It’s stupid and doesn’t need its own function. This seems like an attempt to sabotage the Linux kernel. But no where near as bad as Linus and his bulldyke daughter have.

No, it's not. Simple addition has a point. What's more pointless is the concatenation of two bitwords representing integers. For example, the number 3 is represented as 0011 in 4 bits. If you combine two 3s to get an 8-bit integer, the result is 00110011, which is not 6 but 51.

Probably good since it's an open architecture. Meaning lots more potential for competition in chipmakers instead of just (((intel))) and (((arm))). And if you're paranoid that some govvie has backdoored absolutely every one of them, there's already plenty of soft-cpu riscv implementations ready to flash onto your favorite FPGA.

Personally i wish MIPS would make a comeback. But that's never gonna happen.

No version was good, but 7 and 10 were the best. But the clunky file system is causing me pain. I can only search through 10,000 files in a folder if the search string is at the beginning of the name? God help you if the string you need to search for comes after a period or an underscore, unless I'm just retarded.

Windows 11 won't even find Add/Remove programs in search anymore, I had to go into control panel to remove a program. And I need to basically hack the registry to make the idle lock screen appear after less than 16 hours of idle, unless I buy the enterprise version? They can fuck themselves with a rake.

What’s worse he/she was attempting to apply this change to all channels and not just the RISC-V channel they were working on. Linus is a fucking asshole in general, I kind of hate the guy, but on this matter he is justified. And why did you give up Linux? I have two boot drives in my machine, W11, and a drive split with Cachy and Debian. I use either W11 or Cachy for gaming, and Debian for my dev work. And I pirated windows 11 because I purchased a retail copy and one day I booted up to see a “this copy of windows in not activated” notification. I called support and they told me I had upgraded my PC too many times and it was considered a new device and I needed a new copy. I told rajneesh to fuck himself and pirated it in PowerShell. 45 minutes on the phone to do it the right way, 15 seconds in PowerShell to do it the naughty way.

My old laptop with 7th Gen I5 with 8gb of RAM and a nvidia 1050 that Linux saved from Windows was now struggling, and I really needed Windows-only programs, run multiple VMs and also couldn't deal with Wine, so I did a high end custom build (usual suspects, 14900k, RTX 4090, 64 GB DDR5, fast m.2 drives) and even that has slowed down noticeably over the year.

I have a pre-built from 2017 or so that's noisy as fuck and it runs Windows 10, and it's better specced than the laptop (8700k, nvidia 1070), but I hardly used it because of the problems, and it barely runs Windows, so now that they're killing Windows 10, I have some quiet case fans from a previous build so I just need a quiet PSU and I'm turning that one into Mint. I found Mint just works well with old tech, and it's relatively lightweight. In my Windows VMs I run Debian exclusively, but those are for work.

Lol good for you sticking it to Poodeep in India, I SE'd keys out of them before but they've cracked down now. Gotta love how you're running Powershell on the OS being pirated, like it's helping it pirate itself lmao. Software pirate since the 90s, companies like MS can fuck themselves.

linux lets you look at processes that are actively running and arbitrarily read/write bytes to their memory (gdb).

This send like it would be a pretty big deal.
You can see in the shift-left operator (<<) that the basic function is shifting left by 16 to fit a larger bit size and increment the counter from the pointer targeting the lower bit order.

At the point that we are signing for low-order 16-bit integers we definitely know why we are doing at and what we're doing.
Merging two integers into a larger one usually takes place naturally as a part of rotations or conversions, not as a simple shift-left by 16 fin bits and then filling all the remaining bits.

No one would use this function even if it WAS merged: it's either superfluous as convoluted duplication of existing naturals, or it's irrelevant to intermediate memory-management and IO coroutines.

The reason this is important is because it is obvious this person is planning to use this helper function later, somewhere else, forr kernel-based malware nlin the tree itself.

Probably will use a pseudonym to do so; trannies love their fake names and identities for contemporary spygames.

They get their encouragement from jooz and THEIR boomer pets who allowed name changes with surgery

If Windows is so shit and Linux is so stable that gamers (typically the most vocal users of the internet) are making the switch to an OS that Israel and the zionists don't directly control, then it stands to reason that JIDF infiltrates the codebase with contributions like this and slowly pressures Torvalds to play along or eliminates him, so that they can subvert the kernel.

Fuck that shit. But thanks for the suggestion. I’m a hardware guy. I have been for nearly 40 years and do it professionally. I use CPLDs in a lot of my designs and have worked with FPGAs to replace legacy unobtanium chips. But there are some chips, like mixed signal ICs, which depend largely upon the HMOS I micrometer scale process to produce the desired outputs. FPGAs can kind of do the job, but the signals are always off no matter what you do and a software solution will never work.

Typical Jewish and more specifically left wing subversion. Like this piece of egomaniacal trash take libtard from the united cuckdom.
"Oh I'm jay I'm a tranny or look like one, everyone must want to hear my faggot takes on everything, whitey bad, conservative bad".

Seriously these people are just so stuck in their bloody echo chambers they have no idea how utterly unlikable they are to normies let alone the right.

They're utterly insurable and if it wasn't state actors and commies like george soros promoting them nobody would have to hear to stupid circle jerk viewpoints.

These people are "reddit" the person basically.
