I can't think of a worse thing to do to someone, to create a life for the purpose of service to oneself.
A true aspiration for producing children is to create/provide happiness. Yes that is a short-sighted human experience, but our whole lives are defined by those, it is our lense into the world.
The fact that we are all deeply unhappy, that we cannot provide happiness for ourselves let alone our potential children, should inform you that having children is cruel in the current age.
