If you really want to absolutely infuriate them on here, do what I do. Which is always take a pro-American and pro-government stance when engaging. Because the stuff they're here to defend, yeah some of it is just to distrupt the weaponised autism and prevent people from co-ordinating, but there are times when they engage on actual issues where you can really make them mad.

I'll give you an example, a few years ago some kid made a thread asking if they should go into the military. That brought out a lot of current and former military (who end up in these kind of meme jobs to monitor "extremism" for civilian agencies). And of course they were shilling things like about how you get free college and a 0% mortgage. And you have to ask yourself, really? Is it worth bleeding out for Israel in some dessert shithole for this? What good is the free college or cheaper mortgage if you're dead? Or if you survive with life changing injuries, night terrors, waking up in the middle of the night seeing dead children, even years later? Is it really worth it?

The other times they're here to shill the Ukraine war. But they've never actually read their own history. You can argue from the perspective of someone like Brzezinski, who was in favour of things like NATO expansion (although it had to be done carefully) and tying up the Soviets in Afghanistan. But the execution was much better. For example he got the Chinese to condemn the invasion and amplify the rift. What has this recent Ukraine war done, where they just forced it to happen? It's pushed Russia and China closer together. Not what you want. And you also don't ever want to start some attritional proxy war unless you are actually ready for it.

Other things like this H1B stuff. You just tell the truth. Why aren't you hiring American? Do you really believe Indians are the new Von Braun at SpaceX or going to lead to breakthroughs in AI? They will fall back on numbers game logic but those numbers they're adding are net negative.

I was actually 'radicalized' while serving in the military. Of course, I was a complete hayseed who had no idea what I was doing, grand scheme of things, when I joined. I will say, without the GI Bill, my options would have been logging, mining, and fishing. I'm not against military service in general, even something like a year or two of mandatory service might actually be good for a meme country like mine (where the majority of young men now are all some kind of coddled middle class softies that have never been in a fight and don't have basic life skills, can't even drive).

But be honest, what are most people using the GI Bill for? How many are actually going for degrees that aren't meme ones? Here they will also pay for your college too but it's specifically for degrees they actually *need* in the service like engineering and then you have to commit to X number of years of service. Those are all honest professions, the real problem is if such things can support a family or not. But that's down to the counterfeiting of your money and mass importing a lot of foreign labour to do these jobs. Seems to be a deluded group of people who genuinely believe that having a large swathe of fighting age men play with spreadsheets in an office is going to come in handy fighting the Russians.

Don't get me wrong, something like more automation and actual AI will change things to where the future of war might just be managing swarms of drones and you need people good with technology. But to get there there is a kind of "bootstrap" process, where your industrial base is big enough and you have the energy and infrastructure to support it. Russia and China have that. For every young man in the west that spends years doing a liberal arts or something like finance degree and then goes to an office, it's one less person that could be put into that effort.

I'm working on my master's in accounting to become a CPA (the certification process is the only thing keeping this kind of work away from all kinds of foreign labor). I would have loved to have studied engineering, but life constraints (where I live, etc)... just trying to minimax. Logging, and fishing is pretty low pay work, lost of migrant labor for fishing, and logging has never paid well in the states. Mining is great, but you're on the jobsite for weeks at a time in the middle of nowhere. There is also wildland firefighting, which is what most of my peers went into. I wouldn't call construction a viabal path (immigrant labor), but there is the union trades which are alright after a 4 year apprenticeship (sometimes very difficult to get into).

Accounting is one of these areas that will be largely automated. That said, a lot of the women got into it, like they could go back to work and the husband/children would still do the labour. The good thing about here is that while we have "seasonal guest workers" they are all sent back. It's actually very difficult to just buy a house with some land in an agricultural area even if you're Irish, you have to have connections to the area. America should be the same.

My background gives me preferential hiring (one of the military perks). It seems like an easy segue from that into some other kind of public administrative position, if they do ever intend to phase the work out.
