China is producing so much Green Energy that China is rapidly losing its dependence on Oil.

China Won. The Singapore Blockade in case of war won't Shutdown Chinas economy like the Pentagon thought it would.

Now if China actually plugged that into the grid instead of just dumping all of it to ground.

>layoffs, losses and overcapacity
It's called "creative destruction" and is an inherent part of technological progress. There's been and continue to be huge technological improvements in both solar panels and their production methods, hence factories quickly become obsolete and have to be idled because they are no longer competitive

More like all the western subsidy programs ended and suddenly solar panels become economically unviable when the government isnโ€™t paying for half of the installation price.

Sure, ok, just open the books and let me independently verify, yeah? Shouldn't be a problem, unless you've got something to hide. You don't have anything to hide... right, China?

2/3 of renewables capacity under construction was in China itself, as of one year ago, and the number keeps climbing

>Data in the Global Solar and Wind Power Trackers show that China is currently building 510 gigawatts (GW) of utility-scale solar and wind capacity, an increase of 57% over the previous year and an impressive three-quarters of all such capacity under construction globally.

They do, but no one wants to live in China and all the Chinese there want to live in the West. Only niggers from Africa consider China a step up in life.

China is energy independent, but their main problem is still fuel. While EV helps alleviate that pressure, large machinery, ships, and certain vehicle still rely on fossil fuel, which is what the majority of their oil import goes to.

Green energy produces a tiny fraction of power needed for a modern country and thatโ€™s before we start talking about the coast of up keep

yeah. because of all the coal & gas plants. not because of 'investment in sustainable energy'

I saw a story a while back about a large scale solar facility which had a tornado pass through and it basically destroyed the entire facility. So everyone has these good intentions to build green energy infrastructure and then mother nature says 'nope' and turns it all into the biggest pile of unrecyclable industrial waste you've ever seen. A complete write-off.

I'm convinced that the new generation of safe nuclear energy is the only way to go. Wind and solar is a non starter on earth. Solar in space could work. Beam that energy down with space-lasers.

Any "ai" that requires the same insane waste of energy as the current llms can never achieve agi it simply not possible. Our brains dont need a fucking nuclear reactor to work nor will a real ai.

Yes. The data centers in texas alone will consume 50 billion gallons of fresh water. 50 billion gallons in 2025, and thats just for the data centers in Texas. These things are all over the world now. AI is a massive scourge on the earth
