Europoors put in their place
>What Bessent is saying is that the US will now treat US allies' wealth as an American "sovereign wealth fund" (his words), "directing" them, "largely at the [US] president's discretion", how to use their money in order to build American factories and reshore American industries.

Against Russia.

No matter how bad Daddy America humiliates you with soft power, it's nothing compared to getting repeatedly defeated in wars of aggression against Russia.

Nord Stream is nothing compared to when when Russia defeated Napoleon and captured Paris, or when the Red Army crushed the Wehrmacht and liberated Europe.

Sucking 6 million circumcised american dicks is a small price to pay for the chance to thumb your nose at pootin.

It's fine enough, but just so everyone is clear: the US can just create the money it needs for any of this stuff. It doesn't need to take it or skim it from anywhere else.

If you're going to use it solely and specifically for productive infrastructure that will increase the supply of goods and services -- that is exactly what printing money should be for.

That's true until the Bond market says otherwise. Japan stopped Trump in his tracks a few months ago because they threatened to dump US treasuries.

Interest rate on financing US debt goes up, America is forced into reducing spending, recession kicks in.

>That's true enough until the Bond market says otherwise.
The bond market doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if nobody buys bonds -- the government doesn't need to borrow money. It doesn't need its own money unit from the population. It creates its own money every time it spends.

Selling bonds is not a borrowing operation. It is part of monetary policy to drain excess reserves (or add them in the case of open market purchases) in order to support an interest rate target. But of course the central bank is a monopoly -- it can set the interest rate wherever it wants anyway, regardless of anything else.

So if nobody wanted to buy bonds, all that would happen is that reserves would pile up in the banking system and naturally drive the interest rate to zero. It's not a real problem.

No. I am describing actual reality. You are playing along with a fiction.

Where does Japan get the money to buy bonds? Do they use yen to buy them? No, they use US dollars. Where do US dollars come from? The US prints them out of thin air (much like Japan creates yen out of thin air). Japan acquires these dollars created out of thin air when it trades goods and services to the US (or to anyone else who wants to pay in US dollars).

Japan then moves these US dollars from a reserve account at the Fed to a securities account at the Treasury -- in the exact same way you would move money from a checking to a savings account. That's what is actually happening.

The idea that the US, who manufactures dollars, would need to "acquire" dollars from someone else is laughably absurd. Stop and listen to yourself.

We didn't think the US would literally support Russia in a war of aggression on EU borders of all fucking things, we didn't think he'd launch a trade war against the whole fucking world either.
Just because the EU hasn't cut 100% of its trade ties with the US overnight doesn't mean that there isn't going to be a strong pushback against US reliance over the next 10 years or more citing these dangerous times as the reason.

The EEA, is basically the continent at this point, because they've been adding shit holes to it for decades. So we are talking about continents. As for the mandate her title is "President of the European Commission", do you know who elected her? Who voted for her? How is she able to make decisions for a continent? I don't know. If member states are dragged into the EEA by hook or by crook, without a referendum, does she really have any mandate to make decisions that impact them? I don't think so. So if they're telling her to fuck off, you can hardly blame them can you

I don't really understand why so much of Europe was desperate to come under Jewish control after WW2. The UK had already been rinsed dry by the kikes so it was just business as usual for us but the rest of Europe willingly chose it in many cases. The EU really sealed the fate of Europe, an unaccountable, unelected bunch of chosen ones just destroying European sovereignty at every opportunity.
What the Americans did with Nordstream should have been a clear enough message to Europeans that they were being exploited and destroyed but they didn't bat an eyelid. Many of them are over the moon about it.

Haven't seen it as much ITT as on other occasions, but Europeans seem to have this idea that they've been perfect, model allies this whole time and that all of this came out of nowhere. Americans have been biting their tongue on disputes with Europe for decades. Europeans took this as license to do what they wanted, which caused resentment to fester.

It was recently pointed put to me that every trade deal Trump has done has not been official.
Famously when Obama did the Iran deal it was criticized for not being official because official trade deals require national governments of the dealing nations to vote on it and agree to a binding contract that has penalties under their own laws.
Because Iran wasn't one, Trump could throw it out without direct repercussions.
With all of the Trump deals not official, not only could the next President just throw them out, but any country involved could smell weakness and just decide to stop participating without any penalties.

We have already shifted our alliance to Asia, the Japanese are signing defence contracts with everyone in favor of the USA.
