Islam is very close to truth, their problem is the whole muhammad thing. A break away cult from the very first christians, fled due to their belief that the jesus that was killed was a look a like, and the jesus they saw after the tomb was found cleared was the real jesus, who went into hiding afterwards. Muhammad, 500 years later interacted with that break away cult who taught him original christian beliefs. This broadening of prophetic definitions allows an illiterate learning to read or recite a book as a miracle to muslims. Despite the obviously paraphrasing inaccuracies, the christians on the other hand have largely distorted their own works. Not saying all christians, but there is a majority of secs that have deviated much farther from origins then practicing muslims (despite starting from a more inaccurate account).
