Nations do not need ancient bloodlines or mythical origin stories to exist. Nations are made when people make them. As an American, I am living proof of that. Millions of people consider themselves to be Palestinians and want the independent nation promised to them in Oslo Accords. Why should American tax dollars fund the suppression of Palestinian national ambitions?
