Why do libertarians rarely win elections

Because their ideology is a joke and every single person outside of college undergrads who subscribe to it is a pedophile

Because their ideology is too strong

Libertarianism means that you could. Not that you should. It just lays the responsibility to individuals. It is not for weak, selfish or soulless people. That means it doesn't work in this world indeed

Inherently decentralized, and therefore loses to pack mentalities. It's more a counterforce to authoritarianism, rather than a method of governance.

Third parties of all kinds cannot win in the US, the voting system essentially precludes it.

If you had a ranked choice voting system libertarians would fare pretty well in a lot of states.

I wonder why the preexisting political elites would want to cockblock an ideology whose central premise is the minimization of the state, it's puzzling me.

Which is why red states where libertarians would have the best shot have all banned ranked choice voting
Can't have people actually having a choice for their representation

I wish libertarians had more influence. I like Massie, but his influence isn't anything like Ron Paul's was.

How did Libertarianism devolve from a philosophy about how best to establish limiting principles on government and powers-that-be, to mindless hedonism? It seemed to be quite an abrupt change, too.
Anonymous (ID: bKTT8fei) Ireland No.512986335
Libertarians directly got USAID money. Think about that one for a second. Why would the government fund that? And what kind of self professed Libertarian would take such money?

The problem with it even in the earlier days is that Jews like Rand and Rothbard made sure to poison it with things like individualism. So even if you believe in things like limited government and private property that you also swallowed the poison pill of acting like an individual and treating others that way. Which is excellent for subversive Jews or non-whites, because they are fore sure acting as a group and will out compete you. The exact same way that if you had a bunch of white people that were playing sportsball as individuals while others were working as a team, passing the ball to each other and blocking others in a coordinated way.

These days it's effectively been properly subverted. Today's Libertarians are all onboard with this race blind, magic soil and "socially liberal" nonsense. At least Ron Paul told you straight up: he's against things like abortion, and that he doesn't believe the government should be involved in it all. Whereas the ones today are just full degen and are fine with baby killing and want it legal.

Libertarians are obviously unpopular with anyone who wants political power. I think those people would rather see their political rivals gain power in the short term than see the seat of power threatened, and so propaganda is arranged to make libertarians appear to be the worst of the bunch.

Low registration voters too. Look up South Dakota registered voters and libertarians are vat a weak increase.

Lolbergtarians are a joke, but even if they weren't our electoral system forces in a 2 party system that strangles 3rd parties.
>What better options are there
2 round system is definitely better. Ranked choice gets shills, but I'm convinced most voters are too retarded to understand it and it'll be easily manipulated as a result. Europoors will have to school me on proportional systems though. I'm not super familiar with them or if they're any good.

Ideas that sound good to a edgy 15-year old do not form a good basis of government. Our countries are not free economic zones!
