pokemon catastrophe in Japan
McDonalds Japan decided for one week to sell Happy Meal childs meal that comes with a pack of Pokemon cards
Can yu guess what happened? People buy ten happy meals and get ten packs of cards.
Then they threw away maybe half of the hamburgers without eating it.
A Japanese crow in the yard of the McDonalds had the best time of its life scraping thrown full sized hamburgers out from trash bin.

Why did they sell so well? Because the meal + pokemon pack was cheaper than pokemon card pack itself is at the pokemon store. Pokemon manufacturer had a special deal with McDonalds that lasted for one week.
Later on McDonalds say they are sad that so much food went to waste. Pokemon makers on the other hand said "its nice to see how much the cards are appreciated".
The most valuable and most rare pokemon card ever is unique card, only one were made, it was sold to an American pokemon collector for 5 million monies after the original Japanese owner had pulled it out from a regulard card pack he bought for 15 monies a little less than 10 years ago.
