What does this usually mean?
It's been like this for a few weeks now. At first it would light up for a while and then light off. Now it's permanently on when I turn on the engine. Is there any solution without taking the car to the mechanic? These jews usually charge 200 euro to fix your shit

sometimes its nothing, sometimes its a big something. you need to get more info somehow. like the other anon said, see if you can get the vehicle to give a more detailed code or something. i used to drive a semi that had that light on constantly. for 18 months. it was just some shit with the exhaust after treatment system that nobody cared about.

Go to any auto parts store like Autozone or something and tell them you need to have them pull a code. They'll do it for free, look up exactly what the code means, what part you'll need and how much it will cost. Impossible to know without pulling the code. What car is it? It's usualy an antipollution thingie that you don't care about, the car will work anyway.
Basic rule : if it's important, it's red, if not : orange.
Oil pressure would be pic rel but red.
Even then I bet you "antipollution goy system" still works fine and a $0.50 sensor is doing shit (which could be fixed with a simple reset like for the tires pressure thingie doing shit when it's cold or hot, read the manual).
tl;dr not red (WHILE DRIVING) = dun care

If you don't know shit about cars, which it seems you don't, then you should have spent time in your life finding an honest and well priced mechanic.
It's probably nothing serious this time but one day you will need the service of a mechanic. It's worth putting in the leg work to find a good one. When I moved to a new area I asked everyone I knew what mechanic they used, and tried out a bunch for my regular services and to fix minor issues as they arose.
Now I have two mechanics, one who is dirt cheap and does a reasonable job and one who is a bit more pricey but knows his shit and who I would use if there was ever a serious problem with my car. If you depend on your car like I do because you live fucking 30km from the nearest store and drive 50km to work everyday then either hit the books and learn how cars work or if you can't be fucked then find yourself a non Jewish mechanic asap.
