Yes and no, there's a reason there's more homeless men than women. They have a safety net built in biologically. No matter what happens, how hard they fail in life, how big of an asshole they are, there's always going to be a man willing to finance her because she has a uterus and ovaries. It can be a bad thing because if you were born a woman and wanted to be a better individual, because you never really get to grow and mature in the way a man would because you don't experience the same pressures that he does. You literally cannot fail. There's no real danger for you and your character suffers for it. Generally, I view women as somewhat whimsical and naive, when they're complaining about their problems because they don't know how easy they have it and always will have it. They will never end up in the street, they will never be held accountable for their actions and most of the time don't even face consequences. It's a handicap in a way though because if you were a woman who wanted to be taken seriously in a way that a man is, it's not possible because you've never faced death.
