U.S. alcohol consumption drops to a 90 year low
Only 54 percent of American adults say they consume alcohol, according to Gallup, the lowest in the survey’s 90-year history by 1 percentage point.

The low metric was repeated across several demographic angles, including gender, race and age. Fifty-seven percent of men reported drinking alcohol, compared to 51 percent of women. White adults, at 56 percent, were more likely to drink than people of color, at 52 percent.

Adults aged 35 and older (about 56 percent) were also more likely to drink than their younger counterparts (50 percent).

Gallup’s findings, however, varied widely by income level, consistent with previous years. Less than 40 percent of people with an annual household income of less than $40,000 reported drinking, compared to 53 percent just two years ago.

About two-thirds of Americans making more than $100,000 a year reported drinking — also a substantial dip from 79 percent just two years ago.

Gallup’s poll also found that a majority of Americans, 53 percent, said drinking in moderation (“one or two drinks a day”) is bad for one’s health. In 2018, only 28 percent of respondents made that claim.

That perception is dominated by young people aged 18 to 34, 66 percent of whom thought drinking in moderation was detrimental to their health.

“For millions of American adults, responsible alcohol consumption is an enjoyable way of enhancing meals and bringing people together – and, for most adults, moderate drinking can be a part of a balanced lifestyle,” the council said. “As with many choices in life, consuming alcohol comes with risk, and no one should drink to achieve health benefits.”

Based. I was also very pleasantly surprised how tobacco smoking is basically not a thing in the states the last time I visited. It's what happens when you legalize weed- all the shittier legal highs become redundant.
Hopefully one day we can cull at least smoking to your levels in Europe.

I forgot about that. I bet he legalizes it. As I vaguely recall he literally hates booze. I bet he reschedules it this year. I didnt realize it got delayed. I thought we'd already done it but the judge overseeing it is retiring so its gotten delayed even longer than usual. Then I bet the states will have a few years to legalize it on their own and if there's too many that dont then he'll just federalize it. Which still doesn't necessarily do anything. Kansas was infamously 100% full prohibition for an additional 5 years. You couldn't buy a glass of wine in a restaurant until the 80s.

Either way just a bunch but as I recall that is how most stuff is measured with just distribution etc purchases. Which is still accurate but delayed. It needs to not sell for a little bit and then they stop ordering it.

OP is just sharing one half the the psyop'd data metric, I shared the other half. I even saw some tiktok of a girl that ordered a beer, got a real one and proceeded to finish it and got upset because "now she is alcoholic again" for not getting her draft NA beer. Everyone on the comments said to sue the bar and get the bartender fired. No accountability, but shows where people's minds are at rn. Celebs are pushing the NA drinks too. It's funny.

I don't know how anyone can afford to smoke government sanctioned cigarettes here or in Australia. It's like $25-30 for a 25 pack and oz is worse. Basically every smoker I know gets their cigs from the feather nigger rez. It's like $50 for 8 packs instead of 2. All the convenience stores and gas stations are still fully stocked so they must sell some despite the fact you're not even allowed to see them in the store anymore. Hiding the smokes is supposed to deter minors from smoking somehow.

Yeah who, other than possibly boomers with rental portfolios, are out there buying $14 glasses of bottom tier wine or $8 bud lites? A year ago when there was these threads about Red Lobster dying some anon said in the early 2000's places like TGIF had those like 2 quart pitchers of beer for like $6 or during happy hour. Also Annheiser Busch bought up so many damn brands over the years and then hiked them skyhigh. Idk if it was always this way or not, but at stores wine is vastly more affordable than beer, not even the cheapest wine either simply because it's not just a couple giga corporations, a few micro breweries and expensive imports.
I guess restaurants just want giant margins on alcohol rather than roughly the same net profit but just moving more of it. It's gone so far up from what I remember seeing the prices at in the same restaurants but as a kid.
Wish I had this old pic from /sp/ where beer at a baseball stadium in the late 70's was like $0.25 or $0.50 a beer, it's probably like $15 now at sporting events

Why? Some places that have been around here for 25+ years have crazy prices now. Their liquor license has had so long to be amortized out, what does regulations have to do in a scenario like that? Do they force them to buy directly from the companies and they sell it to them at far more nowadays than they used to or something?

Especially music. Notice every popular song is essentially a story about a man trying to attract a girl at a bar or club.

Nigger music is about “In da club” and trying to party with rum and talk about girl’s asses. The white variant is a honkey tonk dive talking about whiskey and the “dat ass” is rewritten to say “painted-on jeans.” Point is, the default setting is a drinking establishment and people think that if you can impress at such a place, you’re number one. Reality is, you’re king of the losers, drunks, whores, drug abusers, and essentially a slum lord.

Alcohol is 500% more expensive than it used to be.

Greedflation caused this.

You can make your own alcohol. Brewing and distillation kits are extremely inexpensive.
