Would intelligence agencies force these fake news stories and make it a female aggressor towards teenaged boys in order to soften the american publics stance on the age of consent? We have the most number of prisoners but per capita we are #5, but among developed nations we are by far the leader, you would think this means we're safer but that's not true either.
The US is pretty fucked honestly we are behind in nearly every metric when compared to other 1st world countries. I've never been to other countries but I get the impression that the US actually sucks unless you're rich.

Having a justice system that actually punishes criminals. Are some of the laws too harsh? Yes, but for the stuff that matters they got it right. The only thing they have to fix are the prisons themselves, allowing gangs to rule the prisons is third world tier shit.

The real motivation seems to be profit. We have private prisons where companies actually make money from their inmate population and police departments get money from seizing criminal property and cash. I'm not anti-police but there is definitely a balance needed, when they have too much power things can get dangerous. The police get away with murder, literally, all the time.
