Religion. I grew up Catholic, went to Catholic school, have a Catholic family. In my teens, I was a leftist. As bluepilled as you can get. That's when I became atheist. The reason I became an atheist was because I started watching a lot of anti-Christianity YouTube videos from atheist channels and I realized that it was sort of dumb. This was around the same time GamerGate was happening. I was a really annoying atheist too, the type that would constantly quote Dawkins and Hitchens. In my view, conservative Christianity was awful for the things I enjoyed. I saw it being used to argue for more censorship of video games, illegalization of certain kinds of entertainment, etc. This was in the early 2010s, when the blowback from Bush-era conservatism was still lingering.
Over time, I started seeing more things about Islam, and so my attention shifted. I started seeing how Muslim birthrates were increasing rapidly compared to White Christian birth rates, the amount of crimes and rapes committed by them all across Europe. Even Dawkins said that he was too harsh on Christians, Muslims are 10x worse in every aspect.
Slowly but surely, I began to hate. It even somewhat ironically pushed me back into embracing my Catholicism. I'd consider myself agnostic these days, or at least a cultural Catholic. I hate the idea that Abrahamic religions are the cause of all wars, but if I have to side with someone, then I'd rather side with my own people.
