I'm more interested in seeing ROMANIAN Romania than seeing "revitalized eastern-European country spot for tourists" so go ahead, I'll appreciate it

umm ok
give Bucharest a try even if it might not be your thing
Brasov, Sibiu and Sighisoara, these 3 medieval cities are a must see
Timisoara is nice and has some nice art nouveau and baroque architecture
Arad, its similar to Lodz if you are into that kind of thing, the architecture is nice but not the most well kept city ever
Cluj Napoca, overrated but probably one of the most developed looking major cities in the country
Oradea which is truly the art nouveau capital of Romania, with tons of hungarian art nouveau
Targu Mures is nice, has a citadel and some art nouveau in the city centre
Iasi, on the eastern part of the country, is pretty cool, the main tourist attraction there is the Palace of Culture and the many churches and monasteries inside the city
Constanta, if you like a more turkish mixed with romanian vibe, its by the black sea
Miercurea Ciuc even if it has tons of commie blocks and a small old town, its still nice and well kept
Peles Castle
Bran Castle which is a tourist trap, but still has that medieval charm
Cantacuzino Palace, nice view from there(dont go inside)
Rasnov Citadel
Deva Citadel
Corvin Castle
Mogosoaia Palace(close to Bucharest)
Monasteries of Bukovina
Fortified Churches of Transylvania

I live there. It's nice I guess but I rarely leave my apartment so it makes no difference to me. Maybe 30 years ago it would have mattered.

same, all the infastructure shit money after we joined EU instead of roads was used to build total bullshit things lookout towers in valleys and shit like that so they could easily steal all this money, most of these lookout towers already deteoriated because nobody took care of the wood

now it is slightly different than 15y ago, but still i have feeling they are stealing it just in more complex ways I havent seen even SINGLE positive thing EU money was used to that would make my life better. EU money = overpriced bullshit that could be done with 10% of the price, but because you have to steal the money you overprice the project like 500%
