In terms of votes and who get elected you would generally get the same result as the commission have always reflected the center left center right pro EU majority

Nope, each vote of a Luxemburger has 10.115 times the "weight" of a German vote. They get about 10 times as many seats in the EU "parliament" as a German voter. Malta nearly the same. The smaller EU members all have much more influence then they would have if the EU was a "democracy". We are being dominated by the tax havens of the elites, by very small and easily corrupted political entities.
