Drones have made defense OP
Machine guns and breech loaded artillery did the same in WWI until tanks came along and broke the stalemate. What will be the next innovation that returns offensive maneuver to the battlefield?

Judging by recent ukrainian localized collapses, whatever Russia is using rn
In fact Ukraine is relying more on drones rn yet also losing more land than during the 2023 stalemate when drones were much less commonplace, ofc this also has to do with being generally outgunned and manpower shortages, the former leading to the latter, but it does show drones are not a panacea

The next innovation that beats drones would be jets. They fly way out of drone range and can just bomb you to shit.
Maybe Russia will reach this outwordly technological level once.

Probably either drones for taking out drones. Or lasers for destroying them.

Current drones are just a transitional technology. Soon drones will be self-targeting and immune to any form of jamming.
The only reasonable counter to them I see right now is portable affordable laser cannons, although we are seemingly much farther away from them than from cheaply produced AI drones.
All in all the whole offensive doctrine must be rewritten from scratch. Maybe with more focus on targeting enemy infrastructure like electricity, water and fuel supply in cities so that the economy grinds to a halt and supplies don't reach the frontlines. That would be an option.

>Soon drones will be self-targeting and immune to any form of jamming
I agree. Normally that would make them much more expensive, but with advances in AI, probably not at all. It will create IFF issues though.
>The only reasonable counter to them I see right now is portable affordable laser cannons
I don't think those can be made affordable at all, and they suck up a huge amount of power. The weather also affects lasers.
>All in all the whole offensive doctrine must be rewritten from scratch
Agreed, but it is hard to say how. I think it might be ground robots that are disposable like drones are taking over.

chemical weapons return. Just blanket a 5 mile wide stretch of front in whatever gas you fancy and then drive through. The winning move is to not deploy in an obvious position and spread out, which is also defeatable by classic armored thrusts.

my bet is on sth akin to active ear protection but for sight. Active ear protection can make you actually hear more then you would normally. Same thing for vision: imagine sth that detects drones from afar and highlights them on your vision. And other easy to identify threats. Eagle eye camera with some basic preceptron.

Realistically they represent the death of human infantry. Future wars will be land, sea and air drones. Production will be the deciding factor and between the countries that can keep up with production the split will be human operated and those that can afford AI controlled.

Any military force left behind will be obliterated.

Dude, there are no "magnet" weapons in use capable of disabling machines lol, and stuff like EMP devices are dramatically exaggerated by the media. Realistically the only "weapons" that work on machines but not people are stuff like radio jamming, which was a big factor earlier in the Russia/Ukraine war, when lots of radio controlled drones were being used. But then stuff like fiber optic cable and semi-autonomous drones started getting deployed and radio jamming does nothing to those.

nobody cares. The west collectively forgot about nukes to the point where they might as well be fake and gay, but I have lept the faith that every government with money to spend on wars is spending money on manufacturing diseases to disperse. The best diseases weaken the opponent and the most sinister ones will change his mind. Good luck out there, Anons. Don't get crop dusted by the drones. You know the fleets will be coming.

What you call GBE battlefield today is nothing more than an orchestrated skirmish. No one is bombing anyone's lithium mines, no one is bombing a drone parts factory and no one is bombing fiber optic cable maker's houses. It's so fake and gay that the fact that you can't see that makes me wonder if you're fake and gay too.

If there really is a "future war" that is actually a real war, we'll be left fighting with what we have after the nukes are done. There will be no drones hitting individuals like no one would use a JDAM to kill a fly, terrible cost benefit ratio.

The future war will be you and me lobbing bullets, swinging swords and punching fists as it has always been. Everything short of that is just some fake and gay skirmish. No one is going to seriously be fighting AI robots for more than their battery life lasts because we'll blow up all the power plants before we go do a retarded Normandy beach storming session. That's the beauty of defeating centralized system, there's always more of us than there are of them (them being their necessary centers of control).

Now if you're asking what future fake and gay skirmishes look like? Get ready for idiots getting mowed down by AI rolling pins.

Here is my idea; ground based "drones" roughly the size of ATV mounting computer controlled machine guns, that act primarily as anti-drone AA devices, can also be used against infantry of course. Shouldn't be too hard design an AI that can look through some 360° cameras for incoming aerial drones and get fast shots off.

Russian invasion was too soft, if they had gone into the infrastructure day one they would have won but instead they aimlessly advanced and then got bogged down.
IDK what the fuck their reforms were even for if they were just going to go with retarded non plan invasions.
They left the vdv people alone, they then had choppers just flying around like easy targets for no reason at all.
It was almost on purpose retardation which I think it was as this whole war is just a jewish cleansing of the young adult men of ukraine and russia.

To be fair with the current conflict, targeting infrastructure like that isn't viable for both side. The Russians are either building their stuff out of reach of most Ukrainian weapons, or importing stuff from China. Ukraine has attempted to attack some of those facilities (for example they did launch an attack on Russia's largest fiber optic cable plant earlier this year) but have not been that successful with it Ukraine itself isn't building most of its stuff, but getting it from other countries, and Russia does not want to risk all out war by bombing factories in other countries.

tech bros refined gps and then refined radar so send a projectile into a drone is done with a consumer grade laptop and some farm eqipment.
personally i think 5g radio is the problem you could see the water bounce back after compression from the blades giving off a 23. something ghz signal, use stuff that is prexsiting, but the 5 g cell radio works near and often interfers with weather and water droplet tracking soo currently water phase change radation is hiding in a large haystack of cat videos.

What you said is what I believe to be true and furthers my point that the whole "war" is just a silky skirmish. They're running the same playbook that created WWI which lead to WWII. They figured out how to do it before with no repercussions and so they'll do it again. Except this time the planet is more populated and our weapons more devastating.

Humanity is the drug addict child and these tyrant's lies are the supply. If they keep marching back to get a fix, I'm not going to stop them, but if they call at 2am from a gutter in the rain, I'll pick them up in my jammies.

This whole thing is so retarded though. I'll shoot a draft officer, I don't even care anymore. I'm not dying for Satan's sinister plans.
