I’m CTO of a private R&D firm and my CEO is a jeet. He earned his PhD at my Alma mater, which is a difficult school. He married a poojeeta who was here independently and had two kids, didn’t chain migrate his family. He has a full time job in addition to being my CEO and he’s pursuing an MBA. He hasn’t made any moves to recruit more jeets, and indeed his ethnicity has been a benefit in dealing with other entities staffed by jeets. He is actually an incredible asset that this country is better for. He didn’t steal our education and fuck off home with it.

If we only allowed top tier jeets, is that an acceptable compromise?

Jeets provide many times over more value to American businesses than what they send home (if they even do that).
Sillicon valley gets to skim the best engineers from every other nation, it is undoubtedly good for them.

It's really fucking grim for me though, an average U.S. citizen with skills applicable to the tech industry.
Everyone has been sending remote jobs overseas for a while, now they want to import hundreds of those of engineers from nations where wages are significantly lower. This drives down salaries in the U.S. and displaces workers who can't compete internationally.
It is looking overwhelmingly grim for U.S. citizens because our economy has drifted so far from manufacturing and into services which are now done by remote workers overseas and being automated.

The choice is obvious for politicians, import more jeets! Just gotta keep their constituents entertained and fed so we don't notice the American worker is being obsoleted.
