I've been thinking the same exact thing.
Why did Thiel choose him out of all people? Sure, he's well spoken and studied at Yale, but he's lacking in so many areas it's insane.
He's not charismatic, some MAGA people even find him straight up unlikeable, and he can't even go for the savior of the white race angle because of who he married.

I don't get it. The only answer I have is that Thiel is just that bad at knowing what people like, and is so socially inept that he didn't factor in charisma.

Though Indians are the exception to some extent. They will totally come out in droves to vote for Indians/Indian adjacent candidates, and most of them are right leaning anyways. But in the grand scheme of things, they don't make up much of the vote.
