Which vegetables? I haven't seen any significant changes but I buy mostly turnips and tomatoes at a boutique market. Oddly enough, their vegetable prices are consistent lower than the big box stores but shit like Coca-Cola are nearly double the big box price.

In a Fiat debt based system like ours where the dollar is constantly devalued, you need cheaper and cheaper labor to keep prices in check. It's a structural issue, if somehow, magically you could pass higher costs onto consumers that in return raises inflation expectations , interest rates rise, debt ponzi fiat system collapses since there's so much debt.
The truth is, you need migrant labor or cheap labor to absorb inflation while they keep working.

Except without some of those gmo changes the world would be staving due to lower yields. Gmo as a term gets a bad rap but many of the changes are for the better. Higher yields, pest resistant, drought tolerate, higher nutrition and so on. It's not that much different than selective cultivation with grafts that we have done for centuries.

i literally have more vegies than i can eat. 72 starter plants cost $25 and it took only 1 and a half hours to clean the garden of weeds, till the soil with a pickaxe and plant them all. Granted, i was a little lazy and unorganized as i planted, i really didnt give a fuck and i just slapped a trowel of chicken shit that decomposted over the winter on each plant which is amazing fertilizer; but with very minimal investment and work i get a lot of vegies

but there is this groundnigger (groundhog) that keeps busting in. He is a chonky guy, I put two subsonic 22lr bullets in him, one literally smacked into his skull and he's still out there digging under my shed and fences and raiding my garden. I have neighbors too, we all live on 1 acre of land thats kinda long and skinny. I use a suppressor and typically shoot from my bedroom window but once i ran out in my pajamas and tried slapping some rounds down range while on the run. One of my neighbors is a police power couple, an officer and a sheriff and they dont seem to give a damn or maybe they just never noticed.

When i first moved here the groundhog problem was bad; there was an entire family living under my shed. That year i exterminated 8 groundhogs from my bedroom window, including young ones. They were digging under the foundation of my house too so i gassed that tunnel system with chlorine gas.

That stopped the problem for about a year and a half but i suspect the woods population of groundhogs has migrated and re-taken the old shed tunnels
