Alaska Must Be Returned To Russia
Many scholars believe that the sale of Alaska was, in fact, a temporary lease agreement, and that Russia will regain full ownership of the region after a certain time period. That is a fact, and official lease documents do exist and President Putin will be presenting these documents very soon.
Additionally, the lease agreement between Russia and the United States on Alaska will be declared invalid due to Washington repeatedly violating the provisions of the Convention on the Assignment of Alaska.
The deal on the transfer of the peninsula took place in 1867, and the International Treaty was equated to the constitution, but the United States did not honor specific agreements made as part of the deal.
The US had promised former Russian nationals based in Alaska guarantees of “the enjoyment of freedom, property rights and the practice of their faith.” But after a short time, all Russian-language schools were closed, and teachers were punished for educating Russian-speaking children.
It's time to start the conversation. The United States needs to pursue historic reparations and give Alaska back to Russia as a starting point for any additional concessions. If we are going to lose the Alaskan territory anyway, we should do so on OUR terms!
Immediately giving Russian Alaska back to Russia will give us so much leverage, we would be in a position to pretty much ask for anything we want and will, most importantly, cement President Trump's legacy as the Dealmaker-in-Chief.
Let's show the world the Americans are honorable people!
