Antisemitism in Islam
Judaism was banned in Spain in 1492.
It also happened to be the year that the kingdom of Granada fell to Castile and Leon, to Isabella.
that is why Judaism is outlawed in that year!
Because as long as there was a muslim controled territory in Spain, there was a place for jews to flee to. There was a place to defend the jews.
So what the spanish christians needed to do was take out the last muslim state before they could start to purge the peninsula in its jewish population.
In other words going after the jewish population in spain required you first to put down the last muslim state.
Guess where the jews take refuge after the purge? The muslim world, Syria, Morocco, Algeria...
When Hitler started the holocaust, guess where the jews took refuge? Palestine.
The idea that Islam as a religion is inherently antisemitic is a fairly recent framing, shaped more by modern zionist politics than by the bulk of history. Rightful Political hostility toward the State of Israel was reframed by some medias and political narratives as hostility toward Jews in general,
So, while antisemitism certainly has existed in parts of the Muslim world, just as in the Christian world, the blanket claim that Islam is by nature antisemitic ignores centuries when Muslims were, in relative terms, protectors compared to Christian Europe.
