Do not pay for a TV license, and do not tell them that you don’t need one.
Do nothing.
You were sent an automated letter, they don’t have enough enforcement officers to go to every address without a registered TV license. Even if they did visit you, you can just ignore the front door. They’re not the police.
Long story short: Do nothing.
Don’t talk to them, don’t move your tv to the attic, don’t email them, don’t answer your door to them. Leave your aerial unplugged on your TV and use the TV for internet streaming only. Do not stream BBC at all. It’s shit anyway.
This is a scam to get you to pay £6 a week. Make no mistake, that is £306 every year. £3,060 every ten years, and roughly £12,000 if you pay for 40 years. That’s a brand new car.
The UK government arent making enough revenue off their tv licensing scam so they’ve increased the amount of hassle letters to try and make the revenue stream go up. Literally just ignore them and they will eventually stop bothering you.
Unless they can prove that you’ve been watching BBC or UK tv channels, you have nothing to worry about.
