China is formidable but it is also the definition of quantity over quality. They have an enormous amount of personnel and an enormous amount of materiel but neither are very good. Everything they do just sort of amounts to sweatshop manufacturing of cheap low quality products.

Boomer death will help the economy. A lot of the wealth will still get tied up in someway, but enough be released. The last remainders of a generation are the stingiest, most risk-adverse. The other generations won't be as conservative for now. It won't "save" the economy on it's own, but it'll provide a jumpstart that could lead to salvation.
