Like I said above, Tacitus was writing about a DIFFERENT group whose leader was arrested in ROME (so it can't possibly be Jesus). We can be sure it's a different group because other Roman historians mention the same incident.

Revelation isn't about the end of the world (for any of us). It's about a restructuring. The reason its tone is so gloomy and negative is because it was written by parties "in authority" at the time. The warning isn't for us, as mere proles, thousands of years later. It was for the "rulers" to skirt the inevitable restructuring of the regime. Revelation therefore discusses the end of the regime, not the end of our world.
Further, "Anti-Christ" is a seriously confused term. I know it sounds like "bad guy is coming" to all or most of you, but what if "Anti-Christ" was a separate archetypal function to "Jesus Christ"? What if it's an other iteration of The Christ and this time, the "Sword" functions as an implement which pierces deception, which unveils Truth, which defends Truth, and so on? What if "Anti-Christ" was a purposeful mistranslation? What if, instead, the original idea was an iterated Christ, where the new version/process isn't so much about freeing people from the shackles of [insert vanilla Christian rhetoric about philosophical reasons for Christ coming originally] and this time righting wrongs or otherwise countering what's transpired since the last time Christ was around?
