This chart is incorrect. Whether your data is consistent with the null or alternate hypothesis, it feeds back into future prep. You check your procedures whether the experiment 'works' or not.
This chart builds bias into the process in at least three places. The scientific method is supposed to eliminate bias in a search for what is True.

When you understand what scientific method is, you understand that 99% of scientific studies weren't scientific at all and most matters aren't even legally testable scientifically.
Also OP related is only a portion of what scientific method requires, it's only a basic thought process, but doesn't talk about the methodology, which is very strict and therefore very hard and mostly illegal to do. At least in matters that interest me, that is health, sexual fitness, hormones and shit like that.
