>Far more work has gone into reconstructing Proto-Indo-European than any other proto-language
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proto-Indo-European_language
Why are researchers so interested in the Proto-Indo-European language? Do they know something we don't? Just reading briefly about the language I get the impression it was a richer language than even Latin and Greek. Who were the Proto-Indo-Europeans? Some kind of society more advanced than ours that perished in a cataclysm and left no traces except the Pyramids of Giza and other megalithic monuments? But then how did their language develop into many of the languages that are used today as they claim?
