for one, the thermosphere is only "2000 degrees" because that's the measurement of the air molecules in that part of the atmosphere, of which are few and far between.
A satellite at that altitude would be affected by heat transferred through radiation only.
Satellites reflect radiation from the sun, they don't absorb it like air molecules in the thermosphere do
