Bullshit. Roblox has added tons of safety features, basically made it impossible to randomly message people without permission and also given parents the best tool they needed this whole time: the ability to block specific games. Roblox is doing a great job providing a platform for gaming and kids. Pedophile “hunters” are abusing the platform and bringing their larp where it’s inappropriate. If you have evidence report it to the police and do not play games and try to be a hero. That’s all self indulgent bullshit.

I'm inclined to agree.
Onus ought to be placed on the parents to vet platforms their children use.

The double-attack, both forcing platforms to breach user privacy AND pushing of digital IDs to "protect the kids!" seems like two things to be pushed back on.

Parents can protect their children. We don't need to destroy the right to privacy just because some of them don't. You can protect your own kids, shame bad parents to develop a general cultural vigilance, and not allow breaches of privacy at the same time.

If you’re a parent you’re supposed to be running and monitoring your kids account. They’ve locked down messaging and added tons of privacy options for kids. They’ve added the ability to block a game. If you as a parent aren’t aware that your kids are being abused in some Roblox game then your kids should’ve be on Roblox. My kids play Roblox with me and I have even taught them what trashy games, games that aren’t “good” are and what to avoid. My kid won’t even load up a game if it’s in any way associated with something scummy or weird for kids. My sons specifically ask for a “nice game”. Supervise your fucking kids. Use your fucking options. I don’t need some janny faggot to do my job for me.

Not a Dev. Roblox used to have shitty privacy options and blocking but they added all that this year. Literally the ONE feature I wanted as a parent which was to be able to specifically block games I don’t like from reaching my children’s accounts is what they did. There really isn’t much that is better than that. Whatever or whoever I don’t like, I can just remove from the platform.

You know whats interesting (perhaps not so as its painfully obvious) but I work for the government in our disability sector and i'd say at least 80% of kids coming through with autism at the moment list roblox or minecraft as a hobby, not sure if induces autism or they just flock to it but its quite remarkable its ALWAYS one of those two

Two thirds of all children in the English-speaking world play Roblox. You don't need much of a skew within any given subset to see 80% numbers.

I don’t think people realise the quality of Roblox behind all the spammed bullshit on there. It’s an amazing platform that I was surprised to enjoy as a 40+ experienced gamer. I don’t know much about minecraft but it’s also a juggernaut of content. The only thing correlating here is that kids play fun games. Roblox is a most the perfect game for children.
