you might be thinking, "is it time for this thread again"? awww yea it's a great time for this thread again
The black line is the extent of the territory Russia says is rightfully theirs. How will the war end? I think
>Russia gets all of Luhansk, WHAT THEY HAVE in Zaporizhia and Kherson, and Crimea
>Russia will trade all territory it owns in Ukraine outside of the 4 oblasts for the rest of Donetsk
>Ukraine gets EU membership, help rebuilding, security guarantees, but NO NATO
>Russia gets sanctions relief, allowed to rejoin international institutions, and a trade deal from the US
>a peace keeping force will patrol the DMZ (should be a non-NATO western force)
I don't think a ceasefire will happen, but an armistice will happen followed by a step by step deescalation. Why would Russia agree? So they can get most of what they wanted without more death. Why would Ukraine agree? So they don't lose more men and infrastructure and because they are told to.

Russia will clearly never get the other side the river in Kherson, they have to accept they're not getting the totality of the 4 oblasts. They'll get 100% of Luhansk, near 100% of Donetsk, and like 75% of the other two. For all the sanctions reliefs and other economic incentives, and recognition of their gains, it's a fair deal.

How so? It was illegally annexed, not rightfully joined.

Russia will not make take any more significant portions of land. They struggle over tiny patches of farmland and face frequent setbacks even at that.

They will almost certainly never take enough of Luhansk to drive the Ukrainians from the Oblast's capital, and they 100% certainly will never cross the Dnieper river to retake Kherson. They simply do not have the means to do this, else they would have done it already instead of throwing away hundreds of thousands of lives on pointless costly warfare over a few miles of bombed out villages of no value.

Ukraine has absolutely no reason to ever agree to any ceasefire or other peace with Russia, for the simple fact that Russia would betray it, as they betrayed the original treaty they promised to preserve Ukraine's independence and sovereignty. There is no reason to believe anything Putin promises. If he negotiates a peace it is only to prepare for war. Ukraine cannot afford to ever stop fighting because it simply gives Russia time to rearm and rebuild its stockpiles to resume the war on their terms.

Which is why I think they'd absolutely settle this without 100% of each oblast. And I genuinely don't think Russia cares to take anymore of Ukraine, if they did they'd still be trying across their border.

pretty much. putin is on board with the trilateral meeting with zelensky and trump to try and end the war, and the war will end without a total collapse of russia or an escalation to WW3 so they're mad

Russia doesn't want more Oblasts than the obvious ones. They just want to retake control of their buffer zone politically and ideologically install their puppet and fuck off everything else is IRRELEVANT why are americans so painfully retarded?
Ukraine's reasons or feelings about this do not factor in the equation because they fucking lost.

They don't even meet the minimum requirements. It's neither legally possible nor practicable at this point. They would need many years to get ready for this.

I keep seeing this posted by Europeans, but also that EU leaders want it. I don't really think it's a sticking point for Russia so that's up to you.
