What do we call this cowardice phenomenon?
It’s everywhere:
Police crack down on tame citizens for tiny infractions but look away from real criminals who are scarier to confront.
White women freak out if a white guy catcalls, but brush it off when it’s an immigrant/POC because they feel pressure/fear to excuse it.
Girlfriend sides with some random dude in an argument instead of her boyfriend, because it feels “safer” socially.
The pattern = people only police safe targets they feel comfortable with, while giving a free pass to anyone scarier or riskier to confront. It’s cowardice + social pressure disguised as morality.
I’ve been calling it “Safe Target Syndrome.” But I feel like we can come up with something even sharper/memetic. Maybe something like “threat pass” or “cuck cop” idk.
What’s the best name for this?
