People don't get how HDI works. The Low, medium and High were made 50 years ago when 90% of the world was literally Africa tier. So compared to 50 years ago Brazil and China aren't doing so bad. But compared to today they are shitholes. Being able to shit in a toilet and eat a hot meal was something new back then.
