The relevance of the jews ended with the birth of Christ. The bloodline was tracked to show God's fulfillment of his promise to Abraham, whose faith he rewarded that salvation of all mankind would come from his line.
Whoever these people whom call themselves jews today is irrelevant as Judaism. Christianity didn't "come from" Judaism, it has always been about Christianity since the beginning. Judaism was created when evil Philistines rejected the Christ, not the other way around.
