Europe will collapse by the mid 2030s unless they drastically increase immigration. They will not fall as fast or hard as China, but they will collapse nonetheless. Zeihan says that the only chance Europe has for survival is that it's still a pretty good destination for immigration, and Europe has to attract as much immigrants as they can to offset their aging population before said aging population fucks up the continent so badly that even African immigrants don't want to move there anymore. And even then it doesn't change all the other issues that Europe faces like their inability to innovate, or their lack of fossil fuel resources.

The way modern governments work is they spend way more than they should and use economic growth as a hedge for it. On paper this is a great idea, it worked for Germans etc. but right now as you’ve pointed out the model is broken, they count in and push the line for unproductive activities, unhealthy GDP “growth”, if it’s just value added activities then that’s not inflationary and sustainable, you’ve also pointed out that they’ve affecting the productive sector with “degrowth” measures dressed into “climate sustainability” language.
Let’s not even bring up how they’re closing regional banks in EU at an accelerated rate, those that tend to give credit to local businesses that ensure the productive growth, they’re consolidating them into big banks which stop caring about all that stuff and focus on unproductive lines, making sure those grow and keeping the money into that closed loop, crowding everyone else out.

The only way Europe can survive is the same way that The US can survive. The west in general is in a collapse and it will drag the rest of the world with it in the draft.
To save the west it need to be a massive corporation and Europe, The US, Canada, would have to basically build a wall around ourselves as one and focus on what happens in our own countries and part of the world, and not everything that happens beyond it.
