Warthunder was better as a plane game. Adding tanks ruined quite a few aspects of plane battles. I always played two engines because you got the firepower to rekt people from over a mile away. The Hs 129 was my favorite, always got 2-3 kills in that thing.

I went back and played some Warcraft 3 Dota Allstars just to see what it was like, and it's actually pretty good compared to Dota 2, it's way less bloated and pretty fun.
I think it would be cool if Blizzard or Valve or someone made a Dota Classic, where the patch is set back to Dota Allstars and they set the map to back then and basically just remade Dota Allstars with better graphics, I think that would be pretty cool

there's no easy way to learn it, it's genuinely the most difficult and autistic game I've ever played in the best kind of way, i started playing it in 2009 or so
the steam version has a better UI but you can still get old school dorf fort for free (Lazy Newb Pack is simplest)
also get DFHack, it has so many quality of life improvements that make the game simpler to play
learning the basics with youtube tutorials is how i've recommended frens get into it
between that and the wiki its decent number of hours and half a dozen failed forts before it will start making sense
its a blast but i never dog on anyone for not getting into it, its hard to learn and hard to git gud

Fully recommend Witchfire. Just got it last week and its great. You are a witch hunter sanctioned by the Pope to kill a witch and have to go around exterminating her minions and familiars until you finally track her down and then presumably kill her (its still early access, but is amazingly optimised and has enough content to keep you entertained; basically all that is missing is one new region and the witch fight).

Gameplay-wise its a blend of Doom and Remnant, with light RPG and rogue-lite elements. It also has a dark souls feel to it and has the same 'get experience from kills, lose it all if you die' style. You do get a chance to regain your lost xp if you can get back to where you died without dying like DS. You need to find portals to escape the missions, so if you get low on health and/or ammo you will need to find a portal to escape, and then the portals periodically spawn additional enemies and take 20 seconds for you to be able to go through them (longer if enemies are close by). Amazing gun play and interesting spells and abilities that you choose before heading out. Clearly made by gamers too with so many things included that we all want (easy to change builds, can respec your level allocation, can double jump with the second jump letting you avoid fall damage if you jump before landing, can jump up cliffs, etc)

Best game I have played in years. Probably decades. Haven't had fun like this since I was a kid playing co-op halo. Also gives you Bible verses on the loading screens. 10/10. Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. Deus vult!
