Even if you "solve poverty" for certain people they'll never be rich.
If you provide beyond the most basic means for certain types of people they'll spend it all on drugs or alcohol or collecting pointless things - they'll stay in an impoverished lifestyle. It they're of bad character, they'll both stay in an impoverished lifestyle and blame the rich for it, despite the rich taking care of their basic needs.
Other people will choose to remove themselves from a society that provides for their needs, if they feel like part of the deal is a loss of their own freedom.
I do think there could be an adjustment towards a higher standard of living across the board, but you'd need structures in place to do it without inadvertently causing a ton of destruction down the line.
