There is now only the poor and the rich
The poor which is the bottom 85% of the population cannot afford food, they cannot afford housing, they are taking out loans to purchase groceries, the only entertainment they have are parks they can walk to or pirated media, they cannot afford a ticket to the movie theaters, they don't eat at restaurants, they don't go on trips, they cant afford a used car, they aren't having children because they can't even feed themselves.

The world is already in worse economic shape than during the great depression.

Why are poor people so fat if they can't afford food?

Ironically the poorer you are the fatter you get until you reach a point where you are no longer eating at all and then rapidly become malnourished.

This is because the food the poor eat is the cheapest food, and the cheapest food is the ultraprocessed food which makes you fat. Fresh vegetables and fruits and meat are only for the rich.

Less disposable income for a gym membership, or joining a club or a sporting hobby.
Longer work hours. Tired and less likely to exercise.
Longer commute. More hours spent sitting on car or public transportation.
Stress.
Untreated medical condition, or sub-par medications.
