i took uber twice in 10 years, on the same day.
the first was a mystery meat beergoggle-able lady that took "do you like living here?" as justification to tell me multiple reddit uber rape stories with details and citations.
the second was a porky-the-pig spic who made a point unprompted to mention every e-celeb republican (two dozen of them) and repeatedly told me he isn't political.

more than 10 years ago, i took probably 100 uber rides, not once did anything subjective come up, it was usually silent ride or the driver asked if i had fun, etc.

It doesn't matter as, for whatever reason, foreigners and especially women continue to drive for Uber/Lyft when they're operating at a loss. They probably don't own the car, they probably don't have insurance, and the vehicles most likely are not safe -- Uber/Lyft doesn't care. It just continues to get worse, worse than I thought possible, and so-called 'people' continue to drive w/ stolen cars, stolen gas, and illegitimate insurance to usually get debt-whores to their destination.

DoorDash in particular is importing people from Kazakhstan and the fringe ends of the Earth, setting them up in a hostel, leasing them a shitty Prius, and forcing them to deliver 14 hours a day. All to keep delivery fees artificially low, while increasing costs for everyone else.

We had the correct systems in place. Bring back professional licensed taxis, bring back local employed delivery drivers. Or don't go out and pick up your own damn food. It's not worth it, no one is safe from the 'gig economy', stamp it out now and hard, protect your communities and yourselves; you're all replaceable.
