I only watched it for Tiger 131. Was somewhat disappointed in the end, but it was nice to see a genuine Third Reich war machine in a modern movie, even if 131 would have been a bit out of date by 44-45.

I also liked the little detail of the cross of motherhood being one of the looted medals, implying that the "good guys" weren't all that good. The final "battle" was an absolute shitshow, but the rest was relatively historically accurate.

Exactly the same for me, but I feel like it did such a disservice to the tank being in that train wreck of a film. Even the Tiger scene was kind of retarded too, I know Tigers weren't the absolute unstoppable juggernauts that some people try to pass them off as and maybe it accurately represented a fairly untrained crew at the time, but I guess they had to do it that way for the film to continue. It did have its moments, but I disliked Brad Pitts character though, he just seemed like he was trying too hard the whole film. I guess they were limited on what they could do as well, with Tiger 131 so as to not cause any undue stress to it.

That's not actually true and you don't get the movie. The Nazi film-within-a-film glorifying their sniper murdering tons of Allies, starring a German soldier, is a direct criticism of WW2 movies featuring the Allies as heroes as they murder legions of Germans. The Nazi intelligentsia laughing and cheering for the film as Americans are gunned down mocks American audiences doing the same.

And in the end the traitor Gestapo officer who got Hitler killed and ended the war is brutalized by the squad of American Jews despite being solely responsible for their freedom and the success of their operation.

Inglourious Basterds is literally anti-jew and Tarantino is a genius for it.
