I have really strong paternal instincts and every once in a while like right now I feel like I want to die because I know I'll never have any kids due to my insane autism and treatment of women. I'm in my early thirties and a few of my coworkers and acquaintances my age are parents/married for 1-3 years. They tell me that coming home from work and your kid running up to you is the greatest joy in life and then they spend half an hour describing how they're one more bad day away from murder-suicide. However great (or at least tolerable) the wife was before the pregnancy, everything goes downhill super fast during and after, all old problems resurface and become worse, new problems keep popping up, everything about the baby costs money and time and energy and you end up having none whatsoever. They take on longer shifts and extra work days not just because they need money but also just to be away from home. They tell me they haven't bought a single snack for months because they know they can't afford it and would be taking food out of their kids mouths and the only time they have for themselves is after midnight when they can do an hour or two of pc gaming in exchange for worsening their already bad sleep deprivation. They envy my life and continuously tell me never to marry.

I had the very unfortunate circumstance of meeting a woman at my job, getting in a relationship, wanting her to have kids with me, her saying no I'm too scared, and then her having kids with another coworker in a very short amount of time. So I witnessed not only heartbreak but extreme suicide-fuel. I witnessed everybody at work suddenly start to treat her like a princess, the guy like a wise man, I saw her mom that was estranged for 10 years finally visit and see her grandbaby, I saw how people from the office pitched in and bought the couple clothes and pampers for their new baby. I saw it all. Two complete strangers making a lifetime connection and I was just in the way. They're still together after 3 years and I still work with them. They bring in their kid to work sometimes. I drive alone, for an hour, to an empty house. And then I get to see what could have been my life at work, with a woman I really wanted to be with. I can't quit because I have no other references.

This was the worst hell I've ever experienced. I wanted kids before, and a relationship, but seeing how easy some people create a family out of nothing, and seeing how happy they are, I've literally become an anti-natalist, bitter human being. I have outbursts at work and I make up excuses like traffic or a bad day but it's literally this torture of seeing my ex-girlfriend start a family with a guy I work with. It's a small office so I hear and see every little bit of their lives changing, for the better. The guy quit drinking and cigarettes, the girl stopped being a whore and became extremely defensive over her man. They facetime each other when one of them is home with the baby.

I'm a believer of God and I'm a believer of signs, this event changed my life forever and I learned that I'm not meant to be happy with a family, but instead to suffer.

Multiple of my peers seem to not want children ever, and scoff at the idea of having a lot of children.
They say things like it chains the woman to the house and destroy her body.

After work I look forward to spending time with my kids. We play baseball and softball, soccer, go swimming and fishing, video games. They're essentially the brothers I never had. While girls aren't as interesting, they worship the ground I walk on and want to show me what they're up to and I'll do some crafts with them and take them on nature walks. All the stuff I like to do, there's essentially a way to get one of them involved on their level. One boy likes Magic, another boy is old enough I can pitch to him like I'm 18 again. I've essentially relived core memories of my childhood through my different children and we've created new ones. I could see why someone who isn't family oriented would not care about having kids. I've always been into the team and community dynamic of life.

The most exhausting part of any day is talking to people. I lived with my mother for a bit as an adult, every day it was so tiresome to come home and have her ask about my day, talk about stuff that doesn't matter etc. It was as exhausting as a second job. Having to do that with a wife EVERY DAY, and then throwing kids into the mix? I'd probably go insane in a week, way too much talking and bothering.
