When people got tired of Latin the international and cultural language was French for 300/350 years, then switched to English mid 20th century due to US dominance.
The problem is that Americanos went too far in globalizing the language, with their stupid insistence on having foreign plebs speak the language. The French (and classical Latin beforehand) were more subtle by only using a global langage among elites so it wouldn't be dumbed down by this status.

The modern English language greatly contributes to efficient thought.

Just listen to translations of the same thing in different languages and you realize the quick efficient precision english enables.
Most languages require double or triple the number of syllabes, thinking in terms of masculine feminine.
Now ask yourself if your brain thought in languages requiring you to say 3x more to communicate the same information if that would change the quantity of thought you could not only communicate but process in a given period.

The SEA languages are very different though being tonal. Which is why singing in them is so akward since saying the same thing off key means something else. But perhaps they also create modem-like efficient thought.

While French and Latin languages sound so romantic and sensual precisely because saying very basic things can be dragged out into a long thing.
A simple basic compliment can be made to take several times the number of sentences allowing a complete airhead to sound complex.
Great at wooing someone with artistic poetry, not so great at communicating a lot of information rapidly.
Even spanish is similar in how long someone can speak to say basic stuff. Ever hear those latin american angry women rapid firing a ton of syllables taking 30 seconds of very fast speech, but they are ultimately just saying what amounts to a sentence or two in English that could be communicated in 10 seconds?
