In the late 19th century/early 20th century, French proto-geopoliticans wrote about how our Russia was the coming SVPERPOWER (they didn’t have that word yet): that it had the largest territory, the third largest population (there should be a billion+ of us Slavs now), the largest reserve of gold, the most natural resources and was industrializing fast. But then the Germans socially engineered in/destroyed it and the country that barely limped across the superpower finish line after WWII was only a fraction of what it should’ve been.
