Honestly, as a millennial I never had a single time where I thought "wow the economy is doing great."
I graduated right before the sub prime 07-08 crash when the stock market liquidated fifty years of gains. Was an amazing time to try to get a fucking job, I remember having to wash dishes for two years just to get employment.
I've always said the economy never truly recovered from the sub prime crash. Essentially, the federal reserve locked interest rates at essentially 0 for a fucking decade while "printing" trillions of dollars to give to financial institutions to circumvent their exposure to the sub prime crisis.
This made inflation go through the roof. They FINALLY started raising interest rates and shortly after COVID hit. Then they printed TRILLIONS in a short time period and MORE inflation hit.
The only reason we never had hyperinflation is because the US has the world reserve currency and can somewhat mitigate inflation because dollars are needed by other all other countries. Pray this doesn't end in your lifetime anons, the milisecond the US dollar loses world reserve status it's over.
