>>513315452I hope so too. Sadly I see all throughout Europe which has been way more relaxed about sex offenses in general, that there's no a lot of media stunting and following public outcry about sex crimes (I blame women for this) and people constantly bringing up "Why don't we have THE SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY like in the US or the UK!?????"
The weird thing is like. People want lengthier punishments for sex crimes in many places, but in the US which has the harshest penalties for it in the west, there's actually been a push, at least in red states, to shorten it a bit and also focus more on rehabilitation, which is usually led by women because they can see that prison time in itself really doesn't help anyone. They're always, and only thinking about the victims of crimes, and will go to the logic that "if you treat a criminal nicely, you can teach them to behave better, and thus make sure that released convicts don't re-offend."
I'm of that belief too as long as it wasn't outright sadistic (people raping, or abusing with physical power or torture, who know they are doing something evil and loved it) I really believe most rapists or sex offenders are just people who are in a bad flash, and did something out of poor judgment or hatred for themselves.
It's been statistically observed since I was born that rapists are men with really low self esteem. The "incel" problem isn't new. It's just been exposed because we're constantly holding a mirror up to each other online, and think places are private when they're not (so women can read the thoughts of incels when they previously weren't aware of them)
I really hope we get some kind of reform.
Prison is for pedo rapists and serial killers. Not for victimless crimes or lightweight personally offensive crimes. Prison and punishment only exist for revenge's sake and to shame people in public.
