Ukraine denuclearized in 1994 by signing the Budapest Memorandum with the explicit assurances from America that we'd back it up in case of an eventual Russian invasion. We set our proxy up to be invaded by urging them to give away their nukes and now we're about to abandon them despite the promises that were made.
