Launched limited operations to get the hostages back and if Hamas wasn't negotiating started upping the damage, naturally they would've killed 2x as many as died in Oct 7 (800 civilians/400 soldiers), so they can claim win.

But then again the entire situation is two extremely unreasonable/genocidal sides (Muslims/Jews) going to war, so this is all to be expected.
