Boomers are freaking out because they aren't able to spend all of their homeless kids' inheritance before they die. They're terrified that their kids may be able to afford to own a house and start a family at age 50 and that scares them because they think their kids didn't pull their bootstraps up enough or work hard enough to earn it like they did.

Maybe that happens more as they draw closer to the end and true feelings are unavoidable.
