Lightly rinsing your store-bought chicken breasts with some lemon juice, cold water, or vinegar is perfectly fine and sometimes preferable.

Just take your raw tendies, tenderize them by poking with a fork all over. Then toss them into a large mixing bowl. Pour in buttermilk, frank's Redhot, and pickle brine. Make sure all the piece are thoroughly coated. They should NOT be swimming in this mixture, just lightly coated.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and stick it in the fridge for at least 4 hours, 24 hours is ideal.

Take them out. Mix together 2 parts flour to 1 part potato starch. Add heavy amounts of garlic powder, black pepper, paprika, salt, and onion powder and mix together.

Toss your marinated tendies into the flour mixture one at a time. Toss each one twenty times and make sure it is very thoroughly coated.

Fry in oil until golden brown. Fry twice for extra crispy, as long as it's not getting burnt.

Mix together 1 cup of organic clover honey with 1/4 cup of Frank's Redhot for hot honey sauce.

Enjoy.

My wife is vegan. Weet on a Vegan dating program and I was lying trying to hook up with easy Green voters but then I fell in love with her.
I've kept up the charade for four years now and I'm in a world of fucking hell where I sneak out to have burgers alone just to taste the flesh I so desperately crave. I've managed a few times to buy "Not meat Meat" stuff and then kept the packaging and made us meat but I think she suspected something was up.
Your recipe looks nice and I miss chicken almost as much as I miss whatever meat is in chicken nuggets.
